Hi there! I’m Mitchell Opitz.
Web development is my jam, especially the creative side! I fell in love with it in college after taking a web development course, and that passion for building visually-appealing and user-friendly experiences has stuck with me ever since. While I’m proficient in both front-end and back-end development (thanks to my double major in IT and graphic design!), my heart lies in crafting beautiful and interactive user interfaces.
At my day job as a full-stack Drupal developer for Tulsa City-County Library, I get to combine my coding skills with my design sensibilities to create functional and engaging websites. From the new Tulsa Library website to the Summer Reading Program app to various internal applications, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a diverse range of projects that make a difference in our community.
While I’m happy where I am and not actively seeking new work, I love to stay sharp and explore new possibilities through personal projects. These projects often lean towards areas I find particularly fascinating, like game development, Arduino tinkering, and (of course!) building websites for causes I care about, like my kids’ Scout group.
Beyond the code, I’m a big believer in the power of clean code principles and strive to write maintainable and efficient code. I’m also passionate about ensuring websites are accessible to everyone and optimized for search engines.
This blog is my way of sharing my knowledge, experiences, and maybe even a bit of my creative spark with the web development community. So whether you’re a fellow developer or just someone curious about the world of web development, feel free to stick around and explore!
